Baton Twirling

Katy was baton twirling with the Falcons starting in 1995 with her first competition year in 1996.

Shown here are the trophy's from competitions in that year.

Katy says: These are my trophy's from the Nationals in 1996. The big trophy is my favourite. It's second place and I got it for my solo.

On Sunday 25th April 1999, there was an 'open' competition at Rainham which is just under an hour's drive from where we live. All of the girl's did very well. Between the 10 of them, they bought home 27 medals/trophy's. Here are pictures of the girls after their pom-pom team event.

This is the Juvenile Team - ages from 6 to 12.

This is the Preteen team - ages from 12 to 15.

On 8th May 1999, we went to a one-day competition at Loughborough which is about 300 miles away. We travelled up on the Friday night and stayed in a church hall. At the competition all of the girls did well. Between 9 of them they brought home 14 trophy's/medals. It was an N.B.T.A competition so it is always a lot harder than the 'open' competitions. They didn't take part in the team events.
